The Dandy Gent Barber Shop is providing free consultation and head shave to anyone taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s Brave The Shave campaign this Summer.
The campaign helps fundraisers to collect money for Macmillan by taking part in a sponsored head shave. Macmillan provides all of the tools to help ‘brave shavers’ to gain sponsors and promote their activity.
The Dandy Gent founder Shane O’Shaughnessy has clipped many fundraiser’s locks at no cost in the past, so was delighted to offer this service on a larger scale.
“Macmillan is a charity that we know and respect.” Said Shane. “We have four high quality barbers at The Dandy Gent, and are more than happy to provide this free service for people who are so committed to the cause that they will change their look so dramatically for others.”
Shane and his team will provide the free consultation at whatever stage it’s needed, followed by a free head shave and post-shave treatments from its own range of products. All those taking part will receive a badge and a free ‘I’m a brave shaver’ wristband as a souvenir.
Cut hair will be kept in one piece, where possible, should brave shavers wish to donate their hair to charities that provide wigs for cancer sufferers (such as The Little Princess Trust).
Macmillan states that, in addition to providing much needed funding, by ‘braving the shave’ you’ll be standing proudly alongside men, women and children with cancer.
The charity has recently invested in development of specialists to advise and support those coping with cancer treatment. Strength in Style Consultants help those with cancer to deal with the emotional and practical issues around hair loss and thinning during treatment.
