Cooking Up a New Shave Cream

Master Apothecary, Shane O’Shaughnessy, has been in the Dandy ‘kitchen’ experimenting with new ingredients for his already superior Shaving Cream!

The differences are subtle, but the new recipe shaving cream is a brand new incarnation since Shane ‘stripped back and rebuilt’ his 5 year old Lime Shaving Cream recipe.

“This new formula quickly produces an even creamier lather than before, to give a closer, smoother shave.” Says Shane.

Any purchases of Lime Shaving Cream will now be from the first ‘new recipe’ batch, so order yours here and judge for yourself.

“We know our customers will be delighted” continued Shane, “At the moment we’re sticking to our popular zesty lime fragrance – but I have got an interesting second fragrance in mind for launch soon – watch this space.”

Jo joins the Macmillan Brave Shavers in Derby

Derby Barbershop, The Dandy Gent, had its first Macmillan Brave Shaver in the shop this month, following its open offer to provide free head shaves to anyone undertaking the latest Macmillan Cancer Support fund raising challenge.

44 year old Jo Hackett, from Nottinghamshire, decided to raise money for Macmillan having had both her mother and father diagnosed with Cancer in recent years. Jo knows of the excellent work done by Macmillan and was inspired by the idea of a head shave.

“I will never run a marathon, or anything like that,” explains Jo.”So I’m delighted to do anything else that I can. The shave seems quite extreme, but I wanted to do something bold to raise as much money as I could.”

Jo raised over £250 taking part in Brave the Shave, by collecting sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues.

“The new style will take a bit of getting used to, but its not been a shock – and it actually feels nice!” she concluded.

The Dandy Gent Barbershop invites anyone wishing to follow Jo’s example to call in or telephone to make an appointment for a consultation followed by a free shave.
